Thanks to your support, the Ricky Proehl NFL Golf Classic has raised over one million dollars for NC Children's Charities in ten years. We will not be having the Golf Classic this year due to rebuilding. Please check back with us early 2007.
About the Golf Classic:
Since 1996, Ricky Proehl and a loyal team of volunteers have led the way for the annual Ricky Proehl NFL Charity Golf Classic, which has provided over $700,000 for various children's charities within the state of North Carolina.
We are very thankful to the band The Casual Slacks for their donation of time and music at our Friday night Awards Party/Auction. They add a special touch to the evening along with a reason to hit the dance floor!
About Ricky and Our Charities:
One of the NFL's most talented and competitive wide receivers, Ricky is a graduate of Wake Forest University where he was a four-year starter at wide receiver and where he currently holds many of the University's career receiving records.When not playing for the 2003 NFC Champion Carolina Panthers, Ricky and his wife, Kelly, and their three children, Alexandria, Austin and Blake, spend time at their home in Greensboro giving energy and support to their North Carolina community.
In 2003, the charitable focus of the Golf Classic grew to include the following children's charities: Amos Cottage in Winston-Salem, Greensboro Cerebral Palsy Association housed at the Gateway Educational Center, Oak Ranch, Inc. in Sanford, The Boys and Girls Club of Raleigh Power Hour Education Program, Brenner Children's Hospital Special Needs Unit in Winston-Salem, The Cancer Recovery Foundation Children's Project.
For 2004, the Children's Home Society of North Carolina Private Placement Program and the March of Dimes was added to the list of children's charities slated to benefit from this year's Golf Classic.
